Bozal Madrecuishe Single Maguey is a unique mezcal made from the Madrecuishe variety of agave. This mezcal is made in the small village of San Juan del Rio in Oaxaca, Mexico. The agave is cooked in an underground oven for three days and then fermented in open-air tanks for up to 10 days. The mezcal is then double distilled in copper stills. This mezcal has a smoky aroma with notes of cooked agave, citrus, and herbs. The flavor is smooth and complex with notes of smoke, cooked agave, citrus, and herbs.
