The James E. Pepper 1776 Rye Sherry Cask Finished is a limited edition whiskey that is finished in sherry casks. This whiskey is made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is aged for at least four years in new, charred American oak barrels before being finished in sherry casks for an additional six months. The whiskey has a deep amber color and a nose of dried fruit, baking spices, and oak. On the palate, it is smooth and creamy with notes of caramel, toffee, and baking spices.
